20 Weeks and Still Growing
As promised, we're back with a baby update.
We had our routine 20 week ultrasound appointment this morning. As exciting as it was, it almost seems routine at this point! I have to admit, I was excited to get confirmation that Zach was still a boy...and he is!!! Daddy was very happy to see that in the ultrasound.
It's been exactly 6 weeks since we found out we were having a boy...time is flying so quickly. And little Zachary is growing so much. They told us that he has long legs and that he's practicing his breathing. He has all 10 fingers and 10 toes, and all of his measurements look great. He was quite a wiggle worm, though, and they had a very hard time getting any good images. Infact, the tech asked me if I had drank caffeine this morning...and I swear all I had was a bottle of water on the way to the appointment. You know what that means...we have a rascal on our hands!!
Zach is in a transverse position, which means he's going across my abdomen. His feet are at the bottom right of my torso and his head is in the upper left corner. Trust me, every time he kicks those little feet, I can tell exactly where he is. He's also facing down, which proved to be a problem in that the tech couldn't get any clear shots of his heart. She had to wrap up the test and call it incomplete, but we weren't worried in the least....he looked to be doing just fine in there. We'll go back in several weeks to look at his heart again and give him some time to grow.
Next time is the dreaded diabetes test...I hate that stuff that you have to drink. This pregnancy has flown by so quickly. I'll be in Florida working next week, and the week of Valentine's day Josh and I are taking Olivia to New York! Wish us luck and warmth. By the time we get back and resume our normal activities, we'll be at 24 weeks!! How exciting!!
Now, I've got to find time to decorate a nursery!!!
Thanks to those who chimed in on my OB saga below. And I'll try to be better about updating! Hope everyone has a super night. Gotta go watch Amercian Idol now!!!

ahh, amazing pictures....i can't believe you are half way with the pregnancy! Zach is a beautiful blessing. ultrasounds are just the coolest! i am so glad all is well!
Okay we've seen pictures of Zach...now we want pictures of you!
I love the pics of Zach! I can't wait to meet him. I am going to miss you the next two weeks ....BooHoo!!!!!!
About the OB situation...I do not think you are being overly sensitive! Those are the kinds of questions you are SUPPOSED to ask and the kinds of things OB's are supposed to reassure you of! I think it's ridiculous that your OB isn't validating them. I definately think you should try another doctor or talk to your doctor about it. This is the birth of your child you are talking about, and you want to feel as comfortable as possible!
Zachary is so cute..I didn't know you had decided on a name, but I love it! It's hard to believe you are 20 weeks already. He'll be here before you know it!
Yay that Zach is good! I had the same type of problems with the midwives I saw at the first practice I went to when I was pregnant with Evan. They really didn't listen and I'm shy too about confronting people. When the billing office screwed with me, I changed doctor's offices at 20 weeks. It was the best thing that I did for myself. If you feel comfortable addressing the issues with your doctor then go for it. Make sure you are taken care of, no matter what your concerns or questions are.
WOW...how awesome! I love these pictures...and little Zach is almost here. Time is flying by. D.J. and him will only be 7 months apart and I'm looking forward to having play dates in the coming year! :) Have a great time in NY.
Keep up the good work.
